aequa Equity Reading Circle is a space dedicated to learning, connecting, exchanging, and engaging with the social movement work we believe in.

We come to this circle because there is a lot we don't know, and exploring together feels motivating in a special way. We also come to this circle because we don't want our individual & communal knowledge gaps to remain an excuse that stops us from being active.

Our work aims at sharing resources, testing structures, reaffirming motivations, visiting history, finding focus, encouraging curiosity. In the past, we've dug into the subjects such as: climate justice; queer, Black and feminist approaches to movement work; nature-based strategies for responding to change; stories of refugee women in Germany, in their own words; education as a tool for liberation; poetry attending to the postcolonial world.

A central agreement we have is based on mutual aid: we aim to make room for everyone's fluctuating capacity, so that we each alternately feed and get fed by the group's energy.

We meet every two weeks at aequa Community Centre in Wedding, with the option to join online via video link if you can't make it to Wedding.
